Obituary of Samuel J. Noto

Our beloved Samuel J. Noto of Rochester, NY found heavenly peace on October 18, 2021. He was 91 years old and spent his last days in hospice in the beautiful home of his daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born to Salvatore and Maria Noto on January 8th, 1930 in Rochester, NY. He was a veteran of the Navy, and spent his career as the owner of Rico Roofing Co., which employed many friends and family members over the years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, poker player, and cigar afficionado. As a younger man, he loved weekends at our cottage, trips to Las Vegas, weekly dinner dates with his many friends and, later in life, visiting his children and grandchildren. He had a bright smile, and a gentle way about him, and was kind to everyone. He was respected and loved by all who knew him and made an impact on everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife and dance partner of 50 years, Patricia whom he loved and adored. The two of them were always the life of the party and the best dancers in the room! He is also preceded in death by his parents and daughter Andrene Tomkosky, as well as sister Angie (Bill) Licata, brother Joe (Josita) Noto, and many friends and family members. He is survived by his children and spouses, Salvatore Noto, Steven Noto (Andrea), and Gina Karshick (Kurt), as well as his beloved grandchildren Mariah Barlow, Brittany Powell, Drake Noto, Jessica and Michael Noto, and Sammy and Sophie Karshick. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Laurro (Mike), and sister-in-laws, Rosemary Rubio (Henry), and Sally Mammano (Lynn Reynolds), many nieces and nephews, and his dear friends Dominic Delvecchio and Rosemary Avery. Sam will be sorely missed, but fondly remembered. There will be a private service for his immediate family. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
