Obituary of Ellen Lipani

Ellen "Ellie" Lipani Greece-August 31, 2021. Survived by the love of her life for 40 years, George; 3 daughters Mary Goeltz, Theresa (Rick) Surace and Helen Halloran, step-daughters, Jean (Tomas) Hernandez, Kathi (Jim) Scibilia, Linda Lipani (Rodney Gates), Mary Ann (Marty) Sample, and Wendy (Jim) Spencer, step-son, Walter Lipani, grandchildren Christie (Joe) Cutaia, Michele Domina, Melissa Lewis, Corey Scibilia, Kevin Goeltz, Ashley Halloran and Tomas Hernandez Jr. and 7 great grandchildren. Ellen was a gregarious person who was larger than life. She made friends wherever she went. Ellen was generous, caring, kind and loving. She was dedicated to her family and her faith. Ellen looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would plan many overnights, vacations and outings with them. Ellen loved holidays, decorating and entertaining. She was a wonderful singer, organizer, baker, and a meticulous homemaker. Ellen loved to travel to Florida and spent many winters there. Ellen became a Buffalo Bills fan by watching them with her husband. Ellen owned Mimi's diner for many years; there she had loyal customers who became friends. She also worked as a food service manager at Nazareth College and catering consultant at Logan's Party House. Later in life, Ellen worked as a caretaker for many elderly people. Calling hours will be Tuesday 9/7 from 4-8pm at Dierna Funeral Home 2309 Culver Rd. A celebration of Eillie’s life and Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday 9/8 at 10am at St. John the Evangelist Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association.
