Obituary of Bob Matthews

Bob (Robert) Matthews, 59, of Rochester, New York, left us on May 26th 2021. Bob is survived by his wife Donna, his daughter, Stephanie Nowak (Jason), the loves of his life grandchildren, Loghan and David Nowak, his mother Georgia Snyder, his sister Susan Bezek (Bill), his brother, Peter Matthews (Liz) as well as close friends, Amy O’Brian, Becky Thomas, Joy Martin, John Baker, Tom and Deanie Conway, Chelsea Conway and Greg Dechert. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Matthews. Bob was an incredibly open, loving, and caring human being. He loved teaching kids any sport or game and had consummate patience. Eternally young at heart there was not a game that Bob didn’t want to play. Not much for words, Bob expressed his care and concern for others, by doing and giving. Bob would say, be true to yourself, know what you like and try to do a lot of that. He always had an extra seat on the boat and strongly supported skiing community, be it on water or snow. Bob will surely have all of Heaven skiing to his tune. Big Air Bob will forever reign supreme on heavenly waves. While your earthly presence will be dearly missed Bob, know that you will live on through epic tales of your adventures until we see you again. Please save us a spot on the boat. A public memorial service will be held Sunday June 6th at 1:00 at the Beachfront Shelter at Ontario Beach Park.
