A hero is often described as someone who is admired by many, has courage, achieves outstanding feats, possesses noble qualities, and is a supporter of others. Pete not only fit every one of those categories, but he excelled at them making him a true hero to so many. Pete gave so much of himself in everything he did, there was always a lesson to be learned, even if I didn't always want to learn it. I am forever grateful for those lessons from Pete and I am a better person for having known him. Pete gave so much to this world, cared deeply, and touched so many. The legacy of this true hero will go on in each one of us.
I am so saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. It was my pleasure to work with him as a former Trustee of the Workforce Investment Board and other mutual interests. He will be missed. Please accept my deepest condolences.
Carole, I'm so sorry to learn of Peter's passing. He made the Legislature so enjoyable. I remember one evening he took the President's podium and ran the session. Everyone on both sides of the aisle were laughing so hard we barely got through the agenda. He dished out bipartisan verbal abuse. Thank you for sharing him with us. I won't forget him....Sean Hanna

Carole, I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of your husband. Peter was an amazing leader who will be sorely missed. His generosity, warm spirit and kindness brought a great deal of joy to our team at RochesterWorks!
Please know that you and your loved ones are in my prayers. May your family find comfort in one another's love and gain a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Dear Carole and family,
We are so sad to hear of Peter's passing. Our hearts ache for your loss. He was bigger than life, and we were so lucky to have him as a friend, and especially as the Best Man at our wedding. The fond memories we have of him will be cherished forever. We truly all grew up together and Rick particularly had great times being best friends through high school and then at LeMoyne college. I went to St. Cecilia's elementary school with Pete. Such a gentle soul with a helping hand and friendly smile for anyone who needed it.
Our prayers are with the entire family, and especially Carole who loved him so deeply.
Carole and family, My thoughts and prayers go out to you. I served with Peter on the County Legislature and remember him fondly. We had some great times and enjoyed many laughs. He was a lot of fun to work with.

My sincere condolences to the Pecor Family. I was a colleague of Pete's at the Department of Labor and as he continued to work in the workforce development field at Rochester Works. Pete was a true professional that I shared many discussions and laughs over the years. He was truly devoted to his work and his family and friends. This was such a shock to many of us and I pray for his family to find many cherished and happy memories as they go through this difficult time.
Rest in peace my friend.
Karen Coleman
NYS Department of Labor Deputy Commissioner of Workforce Policy and Governor's Office Advisor for Workforce Policy and Innovation.
Pete was a true friend and mentor ,as a fellow WDB Director, I enjoyed our chats especially his wisdom and experience. He will be truly missed. We are all better for having known him. My sincere sympathy to his wife and family.

As a former neighbor I often marveled at Pete's obvious love and commitment for his family. Whether it was seeing him build a swingset for his grandchildren well into the late evening hours or a romantic candlelit barbecue for two on the patio he built, I could sense the love and commitment Pete had for his wife and family. My sincere sympathies and prayers to Carole and family as they mourn the loss of their beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Dear Carole & Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. He was an Absolutely Most Wonderful Man. I know he is with our Lord in Heaven. God Bless You. My Sincerest Sympathy.

So sorry to hear of Peter's passing. We worked closely together at Chase back in the early days of Asset Based Lending. Peter was always a voice of reason and brought much happiness to the work surroundings. He was always full of energy. I used to tell him he is doing God's work as a politician and that I was not made for that role although always agreed on our politics. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune of being in his presence.

Carole and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Pete and I were colleagues from his time at NYSDOL, he served on my Board, and then we worked together as Executive Directors. I am so very saddened of my God Father’s passing. He was adored by so many, especially by his loving wife, children and Grandchildren. I pray for you all that his memory and the love that he had for you all brings you some sort of peace. All my love sent your way.
Dear Carole and family,
I want to send my deepest sympathy on the passing of Peter. I was shocked to see the obit. It brought back wonderful memories of our youth, when we saw each other often, because our dads were good friends. Please know I will keep Pete and your entire family in my thoughts and prayers.
Peter was a mentor and friend. A truly decent man. I will miss our regular conversations about work, family, and life. My prayers are with his family, who he loved so much.
Carol, we are saddened by Peter's passing. We will be praying that the Lord will comfort you and the family during such a difficult time.
Deepest sympathy to the Pecor family on this great loss. Peter was a very special man who positively impacted the lives of countless people throughout Monroe County. I had the pleasure and honor of working with Peter in his position at Rochester Works and through his dedicated and extremely valued service on the Board of Huther-Doyle, where I was President/CEO. Peter's wisdom, good judgment and loyal dedication to his service will never be forgotten by those with whom he served or those - like me- whom he supported. While Peter has left us, his legacy will live on as will the positive impact he had on our lives.
Dear Carole and Family,
It was with great sadness that I read of Peter’s passing. Among his very many qualities he will be remembered for his sincerity, endless kindness, optimism, and sense of humor. When I think of Peter, his smile is ever present. I do hope that the many happy memories of your lives together can ease your grief.

My heart goes out to Carole and all of Peter’s family. We often kidded that he kept following in my footsteps (but could well have been the reverse) as he succeeded me on the irondequoit Town Board, the Monroe County Legislature and finally into his very successful career at RochesterWorks!.
A good man, a real “family man”, a gentleman and gracious colleague, Peter was a man to be emulated. For those who knew him, our world is a better place for his being here.
Sincerely,
Carol
To the Pecor family. We are so saddened of learning that Peter has passed. We well remember the good times we had with the basketball and soccer as the children grew up together. Peter was a special friend and will be in our hearts forever. God bless you all.
Peter Pecor was one of the finest individuals I've ever known. As a very principled man, he always stood up for his beliefs, regardless of the politics of some of the issues that faced him while a legislator. As Director of Rochester Works, he made a huge difference in the life's of countless individuals. He had a strong focus on youth programs and helped thousands of young people find a positive direction in their career paths. And Peter was always one of those friends who you could always count on when things went bad. He helped pick me up on several occasions, and I will always be grateful. His passing is a great loss to our community. My deepest condolences to Carol and Peter's family and friends. I am 100% certain that Peter soul has found a peaceful and serene place in his afterlife. A life can be measured by how one treats other human beings and Peter always scored an A+ in that regard. He will be missed!

I was a supervisor with the Department of Labor at the time that Pete was Regional Director. He was an efficient and effective leader who was also interested in and caring about his staff. I really enjoyed working under his leadership, and he will be greatly missed.

Carole, Michelle, Scott and family,
Pete was a joy to have as a neighbor and friend and will be missed by our entire family. We still vividly recall the first evening meeting you both when you moved in next door and Zibby instantly fell in love with Pete. Seeing Pete work in the yard in his clean shirts and khakis was always great and he never sat still! Will miss the cocktails, chats at the mailbox and not having more time to spend with Pete, a very special man. Much love always to you all. The Anton Family
