Condolences
Mr. Yockel was one of the nicest persons that I've met at the International office. Always had a kind smile and was so kind all of the time. He will truly be missed here at IBEW. I was shocked to her of his passing. My God bless his family and my conedolences go out to his family.
It’s hard to put into words the effect that Dave had on so many of us. I worked with him closely at the IBEW and was in awe of his smarts, compassion, dedication and kindness. Dave was the go-to researcher on every important project and would always come through with the best data, arguments, and supportive research to make the program shine.
I worked with him in many capacities, but I remember specifically when IBEW was launching the family medical care plan. Dave did endless presentations, meetings and was the perfect person to make skeptics feel reassured and excited to buy into the program. He had a way of making you feel comfortable and that you could trust him.
One of the things I appreciated most was his sense of humor. Even when he was gathering data and preparing serious, substantive material, he could find the levity. He was a loyal and delightful colleague and friend, and he will be sorely missed. Sending love and support to Ann, the girls and Dave’s family during this sad and stressful time. Sincerely, Liz Shuler and Dave Herbst
Sad to learn of the passing of David. He was a year ahead of me at Eastridge and I played football with him. He always had such a strong yet calming presence. I never met anyone near my age who carried himself with the confidence that Dave Yockel did. He always seemed so much older than he was and was probably the smartest kid in the building. He was a ferocious yet respectful football player and an inspiration to us all. Lastly and maybe most important, he really was THE nicest kid I EVER knew. Rest in peace.
I’m so sorry to hear about Dave. I knew him through Erik Wemple in Washington who was a college classmate and for a time shared an apartment with him. Just awful news. Dave was a great guy and a dedicated family man. He was a great friend of Wemple’s and I always enjoyed hanging out with them. My most sincere sympathies to the entire Yockel families. Rest In Peace, Yocks. You will be missed.
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Dave's passing this weekend and am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Dave in the IBEW IO building and he was always so kind and a real pleasure to be around. He will be greatly missed.
I knew Dave through my work for the IBEW. I particularly remember that he gathered evidence for me that helped me win an important case in Federal Court. He understood exactly what I needed and obtained the information quickly and with no fuss. It was always a pleasure to see him and his sweet smile around the building.
Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences for your loss. Yock was a year ahead of me at Eastridge H.S. and I looked up to him in terms of his general easy going and happy demeanor as well as for his football/baseball abilities. He always seemed to have a smile on his face even when he was laying someone out from his linebacker position. I pitched Summer ball on the same team as him and loved seeing him at third base because I knew nothing was getting by him. It is with genuine sincerity that I say that he was one of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure to know. There seem to be fewer and fewer "good guys" in the world....Yock was without a doubt one of them. RIP DAVE.
David always had a smile and warm presence in the office. He was a joy to work with and he will be very missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
Dave was a joy to be around and a great guy to work with. We will miss him. Please accept our condolences for your loss.
