Obituary of Madeline A. Petix

ROCHESTER - Passed on to the next life on Monday, August 5th 2019 at her final residence, the Edna Tina Wilson Living Center, Rochester, NY. She was 1 week away from her 95th Birthday. Madeline was born on August 12, 1924 in Rochester NY. She attended Nazareth Academy HS in Rochester, NY. In 1952 she married Stephen J Petix, and together they had 3 children.
Madeline was a stay at home caregiver, re-entering the workforce in the later 1960s, working 1st at Sibleys Department Store, then for about 20 yrs as the Charter Agent at the Regional Transit Service, until her retirement in 1993. She completed her work career through 2011 as a part-time Webster Montessori School Classroom Assistant.
She was a firm believer in appreciating the unique contribution everyone could make towards a more richer life experience and maintained many lasting friendships. Her extended family members, neighbors, and work associates were always an integral part of her life.
Madeline is predeceased by husband Stephen (1969) and daughter Mary (Petix) Chiella (1994), and survived by sons Stephen and Gerard.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the kind professional services from various caregivers at the RGH, Brightonian, Heather Heights, HomeInstead, Baywinde, Kirkhaven, and Edna Tina Wilson Healthcare service providers.
Calling hours will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 at Dierna Funeral Home 2309 Culver Rd. Her Funeral Mass will be Friday 10am at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, Memorial Mass donations can be made to St. Ambrose Church / Peace of Christ Parish or a Religious Order of your choosing.
