Obituary of Philomena Convertino

SPENCERPORT - Passed away on July 10, 2019. She was born on May 27, 1921 in Utica, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Lauretta (Clemente) Pape. She had been a winter resident of N. Palm Beach, FL for many years and currently resided in Spencerport, NY. She was employed at Griffiss AFB and later as a Language Development aide at Miller School in Utica. On April 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Frank Convertino. They shared a close, blessed union for 66 years. She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Arnone and Carol Convertino; 2 grandchildren, Sam and Bethany Arnone all from Spencerport , NY. She also leaves a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Barbara Pape of Venice, FL; sister-in-law, Eleanor Pape of Utica, NY now residing in Sarasota, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank; son, Anthony; brothers, Pasquale and Frank Pape; sisters, Mary Palmieri and Anna Ionta; in-laws, Rocco Palmieri, Robert Ionta, Frank and Carmella Argento, Francis Busby of GA and son-in-law, Salvatore “Sam” Arnone.
In keeping with Philomena’s wishes there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider donations to HealthFriends Inc. or Catholic Charities. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Monday 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Spencerport, NY. Private interment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica.
