Joyce Peek Nelson

With her loving family all around, Joyce passed away peacefully at the young age of 92 in quest of her prince charming. Joyce was originally from Homer NY. Following her marriage in 1946, she moved to Rochester with her husband Earl. She was a homemaker, mom, and “Nana” to several grandchildren. She recently attained the title of “G2” (great, great grandma) to two beautiful grandsons. Joyce received honorary life time membership at Brook-Lea country club and was an avid golfer, bridge player, and artist in her younger years. She enjoyed Geva Theater and all activities that involved her Brook-Lea lady friends. Joyce’s recipes for blue cheese dressing, macaroni and cheese, salmon patties, and her log roll cake were family favorites. She was known for her quick wit, humor and laughter which are valued as basic human needs of the Peek-Nelson family heritage.

In her later years, Joyce was lovingly cared for at home by her family, especially her grandson Jason and her devoted caregiver Michele Vecchio.

Joyce is predeceased by her husband Earl L. Nelson. She is survived by loving children, Kim (Gabe) Fogarassy, Sandy (Chris) Barry, Todd (Corinne) Nelson; grandchildren, Jason Steier, Sarah Barry, Owen (Andrea) Barry; great grandchildren Ethan Reyes, Sienna Steier; 2 great, great grandsons William and Carter

A family memorial service is planned for a later date.
