Obituary of Janice Goodman
Janice “Jan” Goodman
Age 79
December 9, 1942 — April 16, 2022
Jan Goodman captured the checkered flag early Saturday morning on April 16. She’s a woman who claimed that she’s had “more fun than an old lady aught to have.” She is survived by her “hunny bun” and loving husband Thomas (Tom) Goodman. She has now rejoined with her sister (Alice Limbeck) and brother (David Phillips) for more shenanigans and “grins and giggles” from above. In her 30s Jan rode her Honda 350 motorcycle to work at the RPO, and then she raced micro sprint cars against those “whippersnappers” when she was “Fat & 50-Something.” Her love of doggie smooches from her honey-boy doggies, really good coffee, and Cherry Garcia ice cream were right up there. She welcomed her loved ones with the warmest squeeze and would say everything was “just swell” and so good that “she just couldn’t stand it.” She and Tom loved ski trips to Vermont where they tried to avoid those snow snakes that would grab your ankles and throw you down the hill. Other adventures took her to go bungee jumping in New Zealand, sprint car racing along the east coast, and whatever else that sounded “neat.” Eventually she and Tom lived on wheels wherever their motor home landed—which was mostly around Mesa, Arizona. She had just recently returned home to her roots in Rochester.
Jan, you are loved by many. You loved with all your heart. You treated your step-daughters, nieces and nephews like they were children of your own—and friends like they were long-lost family. You looked after “your Tom” as a husband and partner in crime. From all of us, thanks for your funny tales, crooked smirk, and ability to make us all laugh, itch, and scratch along with you! Squeezes all the way around!
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
