Obituary of Donald Morgan

Webster: September 27, 2021, suddenly at age 85. Loving companion of Judy Ver Plank; beloved husband of Celanire (pre-deceased); loving father of Thomas (Debbie), James , Patrick (Cheryl), Mark (Suanne) and Christopher; devoted grandfather of Alexandra (Jack) LaVoie, Samuel (Dori), Sarah, Jesse, Jacob, Joseph, Henry and Charles Morgan; proud great-grandfather of Sydney, Quinn and Marlowe (Alexandra Lavoie), Olive (Sarah Morgan) and Thomas (Samuel Morgan); brother of Thomas (predeceased), Michael, Robert (predeceased), Francis (predeceased), Theresa Stamp (predeceased), Mary Novakowski, Anthony, Patricia Rignola (predeceased). He was also a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Don was a faithful member of St. Cecilia's Church. Born in Elmira, he was a long-time resident of Irondequoit. He spent many weekends and summers with family and friends in his beloved Adirondack home in North Hudson. An avid softball player, he was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rochester Softball Hall of Fame. He was also a well-known member of the local music community, having performed with numerous Barbershop Quartets throughout his life. Most importantly, he was a steady source of strength, guidance, compassion and love for his large family and many friends. Friends may call Friday, October 1, 5-8PM at the Dierna Funeral Home, 2309 Culver Rd. (near Norton). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 2nd, 11AM at St. Cecilia's Church.
