I met Alicia in a children's clothing boutique when she was restocking her business cards for her jewelry business. I had been looking to make our bereavement boxes more meaningful at the hospital. I remember holding one of the sample necklaces with a child's handprint on it and saying out loud that this would be the perfect gift for parents who just lost their child. Alicia heard me and said with a kind smile, "well let's figure out how we can make that happen." That was the start of our collaboration and friendship. Alicia helped bring meaningful comfort to so many parents. She was someone who led with empathy and compassion. While we didn't see each other often, each time we talked it was if no time had passed. Alicia accomplished so much in her short time here and touched so many hearts. She had a way of bringing out the best in everyone she met and of finding joy in the smallest of moments. She will be dearly missed.
