Obituary of Alan D. Kotwas
Entered into peaceful, eternal rest on August 30, 2019 at age 67. Alan is survived by his two daughters, Laura (Christopher) Galka and Janet (Lars) Wagner; grandchildren Alexander Galka and Walker and Keller Wagner; sisters Linda Kotwas and Suzanne (Jeffrey) Lagendyk; nephew Adam Lagendyk; niece Kristen Spoto; great nephew Jake Spoto and great niece Maia Spoto. Alan is predeceased by his parents Alexander and Elaine Kotwas and his wife, Barbara Kotwas. Alan worked for the NYSDOT for 36 years as a mechanic and welder. After retirement he lived on Honeoye Lake where he enjoyed fishing, puttering in the garage and being outside. A character all his own, Alan was an avid hunter, horseman, and civil war enthusiast who lived life on his own terms. Alan was a proud father and grandparent and it was important to him to pass his knowledge and interests on to his kids and grandchildren.He will be deeply missed by all, including extended family and many close friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, September 30th @ 11AM at the Irondequoit Cemetery (3672 Culver Road in the town of Irondequoit). Immediately following the service there will be a celebration of Alan’s life at the Whitehouse Lodge at Webster Park, 1100 Lake Rd in Webster.
